While studying architecture at Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, Michigan, Corbin and Jillian’s paths crossed in a simple, unexpected way. Corbin, a Canadian, was working in a studio with another Canadian classmate, and Jillian would occasionally stop by to say hi to their mutual friend. Their early interactions were brief, just friendly exchanges in passing.
As it turned out, Jillian’s studio had the only microwave on the floor. Corbin started popping in to heat up his meals, and these visits became a chance to chat. Over time, their conversations grew longer, and they began to connect over shared interests and easy banter. The studio, with its hum of creativity, became a place where they got to know each other.
Later on, their lunchtime chats turned into walks and hanging out in the school courtyard to get a break from working on drawings. These moments, filled with laughter and shared stories, brought them closer. Near the end of the semester, Corbin invited Jillian to visit him in Muskoka. That trip marked the start of something special, and from there, their relationship grew.
Today, as we celebrate their wedding, we’re reminded that their love story began with small moments—a conversation, a walk in the courtyard, and a chance to connect.
